Artist Notes: Eight Miles Away began after Tony spent a year talking with a man sleeping in a bus shelter opposite his home. Moved by the man’s resilience, he painted his portrait with the intention of using any proceeds to help him off the street. The work sparked international interest, leading to a series of paintings focused on homelessness in the city. Proceeds from the original works and all prints are directed towards supporting individuals to make a fresh start.
