Sussex Nightstop receives Safer Spaces Award
We’re proud to have been granted The Allsorts Safer Spaces Award, developed to ensure that youth services are safer spaces for LGBT+ young people, so they can benefit from youth provision to its full potential.
Allsorts is a Brighton-based charity that supports children and young people who are lesbian, gay, bi, trans or exploring their gender identity and/or sexual orientation (LGBT+), and challenge exclusion, prejudice and discrimination in all areas of LGBT+ children and young people’s lives.
The Safer Spaces Award encourages and empowers participating organisations to examine and self-assess six key areas of operation, with a view to amending, improving or implementing inclusive practices that assure safer spaces for LGBT+ children and young people:
- staff and volunteers
- service users
- facilities and environment
- policies and procedures
- culture and ethos
- data and information
